A New Ape Discovered?
Various sources have reported the apparent discovery of a new type of ape in the Congo. Locals call these apes 'lion killers' as they have been known to kill fully grown lions. These are apparently look like gorillas (but are a lot bigger), and are very ferocious.
As the area in which they are found is quite remote, it has been difficult to get more detailed information on this.
If these reports are true, then it would rank as one of the most amazing finds so far this century! I am always surprised when something like this happens. At the back of my my mind, I think that most of the large animals have been found, identified, named, catalogued and probably killed off.
